Spy Kids

Want to know how Emily Osment used her pigtails as propellers to fly on Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams? Come learn about the technology behind your favorite movies from the award-winning producer of the Spy Kids movies, Elizabeth Avellán! Avellán attended Rice University and later moved to Austin to continue her studies in film and art. She also produced the popular family films, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D and Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock. Avellán is eager to join in the EYH workshop series and teach girls about the technology behind the film industry.

When asked what their favorite part of EYH was, girls answered:

  1. "Learning about careers like being a software [engineer]"
  2. "Learning that it is possible to have your own business"
  3. "Learning about all the different jobs that are math related and fun"
